During the meeting the head of the PR office of the Administration Department of the Ministry of Interior of Russia major general of militia Valery Gribakin and the adviser of the Minister of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine colonel of militia Konstantin Stogny discussed matters of the information policy in the activity of law enforcement bodies of the two countries and exchanged the accumulated experience.
"The strategic line of the Ministry of Interior of Russia is to maintain the maximum transparency and the social orientation of the system which particularly concerns the activity of employees of law enforcement bodies, the increase of citizens' trust to militia employees and the prestige of militia service," the head of the PR office of the Administration Department of the Ministry of Interior of Russia declared. - The Public council at the Ministry of Interior of Russia is of great assistance in the solution of these problems for us.
According to Valery Gribakin, the activity of members of the Council makes it possible time and again to solve most important questions in the shortest terms. The efficiency of the Public council was repeatedly appreciated by the RF Minister of Interior Rashid Nurgaliev, including events in which CIS member countries participated.
In his turn, the adviser of the Minister of Interior of Ukraine Konstantin Stogny expressing his appreciation for the friendly welcome and told about the information policy pursued within the system of law enforcement activity in the territory of Ukraine.
Focusing the general attention on the prospects of development of the information interaction of law enforcement bodies of Russia and Ukraine, representatives of the parties considered the concrete results of the cooperation.
"The law enforcement bodies of the two states should be guided by the constructive cooperation principle and regularly engage in joint operative search and preventive activities and in performing local operations as per the operative data," said the head of the PR office of the Administration Department of the Ministry of Interior of Russia. The frontier zones of both states can be a perfect example of such cooperation.
Strengthening of interaction of law enforcement bodies of the two countries is especially urgent in view of the increasing consolidation of criminal groups who frequently have inter-regional relations.
Therefore, issues of interstate counteraction to criminality also demand respective information support. To ensure pursuance of a uniform information policy of the Ministries of Interior of Russia and Ukraine in terms of building up a bilateral system of prevention of offences and taking a range of measures to increase the citizens' trust in law enforcement bodies and increase the prestige of militia service, Valery Gribakin told the Ukrainian colleagues about the activity of Press services of the Ministry of Interior of Russia. As an example of interstate cooperation he offered the activity of the United Editorial Office of the Ministry of Interior of Russia.
Greeting the colleagues from Ukraine, the head of the United Editorial Office of the Ministry of Interior of Russia Nikolay Samokhvalov told that the whole range of the information policy the Editorial Office aimed at the organization of efficient operation of the departmental print and electronic mass media, the organization and carrying out image-specific projects and perfection of the information and outreach technology. The United Editorial Office of the Ministry of Interior of Russia possessing powerful print and electronic resources takes and active part in the information support of the Ministry of Interior of Russia.
In the inventory of the United Editorial Office there are print editions: magazine "Militia", "The Medical bulletin", "Commonwealth", the almanac "Professional", newspapers "The Shield and Sword", "The Dangerous Age" and others. The total circulation for a half-year exceeded 1,6 million copies. The interest of citizens to the official information resource of the Ministry in the Internet has considerably increased. On the average, more than 19,000 web users visit the official site of the Ministry of Interior daily. In the first half of the year 2010 more than 10,000 information materials were published there.
One of the most efficient departmental mass media of the Ministry of Interior of Russia for today is also the radio station "Militia wave". According to a special monitoring the "Militia wave" is among the top ten most quoted radio stations of Russia.
Over the short term of its existence the broadcast "Conversation with the Minister" has become one of key broadcasts of the radio station. The high interest from the listeners proves its popularity: every day, the office receives quite a number of letter from citizens with questions to the head of the Ministry of Interior of Russia.
The program has a great public value and is one of the most powerful channels of bilateral communication between the Ministry of Interior and citizens. The priority in the information policy of radio station is the coverage of the activity of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation. In 2010, about 1000 comments reports etc. have been broadcast.
Also, the TV office has contributed considerably to the information support of the activity of the Ministry of Interior of Russia. In the first half of the year 11 educational and documentary films addressing various topics were prepared and issued.
In conclusion of the meeting representatives of the two departments made a decision to strengthening the joint information work in terms of prevention of crimes and offences and defined aspects of perfection of the information and outreach support of the activity of the two Ministries.
After exchanging memorable gifts, Konstantin Stogny invited law enforcement officers of the Ministry of Interior of Russia to visit Republic of Ukraine and to get acquainted with its information policy strategy.
