On September 1, on the Day of Knowledge, employees of the STSI administrative office in Primorye area prepared a real holiday for children: the campaign "Make roads safe to children!" took place in Vladivostok.
The event was timed to coincide with the beginning of a new school year. The last month of summer was when a contest of children's drawings and verses devoted to traffic safety was held by the Management of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. Inhabitants of cities and settlements of the area took an active part in them: children and their parents from Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Spassk-Dalniy, Dalnegorsk, Ussuriysk, Dalnerechensk and many other settlements submitted over 80 works in which they depicted their wishes to drivers.
On September 1, the long-awaited ceremony of summing up the results of the contest of children's drawings and verses took place, followed a drama performance, more trivia games and competitions concerning the traffic safety rules on the quay.
Also, a celebratory event "Traffic labyrinth" took place at the Child and Youth Creativity Center of Vladivostok on the same day. Pupils of various schools of Vladivostok competed in their knowledge of traffic safety rules. Besides, inspectors of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate together with employees of the open JSC "Electricheskiy Transport" decorated one of trams with children's drawings related to the traffic safety subject. During the campaign "Car of safety", a number of contests and trivia games involving pupils of three schools of the regional capital were held.
Militia officers of Primorye area are sure that carrying out such game-like events will help develop positive skills of a correct behavior on roads at school children, which will yield a reduction in the number of traffic accidents involving children.
